Guided Sage Rat Hunts

You'll receive access to our exclusive local squirrel hot spots. We can provide private access to target-rich fields in the area. We also provide our hunters with high-quality construction in our professional platforms. This provides comfort, stability, space, mobility and accuracy. Second to safety, our main goal is to keep you on your scope and shooting rats! Shooting in a platform as a group often leaves friends with a fond memory of camaraderie and can also serve as a beneficial corporate retreat. We have the knowledge and experience to keep you on the rats and in the scope. We will keep your mags full, make sure you're hydrated, fed and having a good time.
We custom-built a platform that is equipped with a ramp and in-floor elevator to accommodate our mobility-challenged hunters. It was very important to us to acknowledge the folks who are often overlooked in the hunting industry and give them the opportunity to experience high-volume shooting as well. That way, no one gets left out! Let us know if you would like to request this platform while booking.

Expect to shoot 200 - 1,000+ rounds per day/ per person! Don't let yourself run out of ammo. Bring cleaning equipment! Your firearms will be firing a lot of rounds! Make sure you bring your own hearing and eye protection as well.
The Belding Ground Squirrel is a finicky creature. Did you know that centerfire rounds scare them down more than rimefire rounds? They typically leave their burrows at sunrise; however their temperament depends on the weather and as with any hunt, your success may depend on weather. Squirrel activity can also decrease as temperatures increase. These squirrels have a largely herbivorous diet; although, they will also eat insects, carrion and other vertebrates and even each other. The Belding Ground Squirrel also lives at higher altitudes which makes Crane, Oregon and the surrounding areas an optimal habitat and hunting ground at 4,134 feet elevation.
Owner and guide, Seth Franklin was born and raised in squirrel country. From the time he was a young boy, he has been shooting and hunting anything that moved. With an avid passion for the outdoors and hunting, Seth has carved out a living in the high desert of Oregon and started to make his name as a predator and big game hunting guide. Seth has well over a decade of experience guiding sage rat hunts. He has taken the exorbitant amount of time it entails to learn everything about the animal he is hunting. Some people call him "rat-squeaker Franklin" who can call squirrels out of their holes with a whistle he has perfected over time. You may have also seen him on outdoor networks and on YouTube. If you're really lucky, you'll get to see him bring the blow gun out to slock rats! There is nothing stopping this knowledgeable outfitter, or his guides, from providing an excellent and memorable hunt for you and your hunting party.
